“Defeat is a state of mind; no one is ever defeated until defeat has been accepted as a reality.”
"Don't get set into one form, adapt it and build your own, and let it grow, be like water. Empty your mind, be formless, shapeless — like water. Now you put water in a cup, it becomes the cup; You put water into a bottle it becomes the bottle; You put it in a teapot it becomes the teapot. Now water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend."
This were said by history's one of the most famous martial artist, Bruce Lee. He was born in Hong Kong on 27 November 1940 and died at a age 33 on 20 July 1973. Even after his death people still respected him. He was taught Wing Chun by Yip Man and then carried on developing his own style of fighting later in his life. He was famous for using nunchuck, this weapon was not well known till Bruce Lee himself demonstrated many amazing feats with the nunchuck such as playing table tennis with China's best player, lighting up matchsticks in the dark with incredible accuracy. BRUCE LEE! ABSOLUTELY AN AMAZING DEMONSTRATION!
The quotes above, to me is very important, they are my 'motivators'. My interpretation of the first quote is that no one is a loser, one only think or she is a loser because of their way of thinking. We should not accept defeat so easily no matter how bad the situation is, we need to keep fighting and never ever give up. Even if we lose, we could not admit defeat we should stand up and continue fighting. Our own mindsets will determine two paths for us, one is the path to defeat, and secondly is the path where we stand up and try until we succeed.
The second quote, shows us that if you can flow with all the adversity and adapt to everything, your quality of life improves. It isn't necessarily easy to right off the bat, but neither is walking for the first time. Neither is driving a car, or riding a bike, or using new technology for the first time, and on and on and on. But before you know it, with some practice, it can be done unconsciously. You don't even have to think about it. And since we are over 70% water we can rejoice over the fact that we can easily and naturally follow all this beautiful wisdom which water provides us with. We must be able to adapt to the changes around us fast or else we will suffer
